Shipping Information

Shipping Discounts

With some exceptions (see below), when merchandise totals $45.00 or more, we offer a discount applied against your shipping cost on any available shipping method. For many orders shipping to the continental US, this will provide free, or nearly free, shipping. For bulky and/or very heavy orders, as well as orders shipping to Alaska or Hawaii, the shipping will be nicely discounted. When applicable, currently only on UPS ground, and express services, surcharges for rural or extended rural delivery will be added after the discount is applied.

Free/discounted shipping is available on packages delivered within the USA for retail customers who place an order through the website. Free/discounted shipping is not available for orders placed by phone or by mail.

Free or discounted shipping is not available to wholesale customers, however, we do everything we can to keep your shipping costs low. Charges reflect the actual shipping cost, not a percentage of the sale.

Exceptions

Any portion of any order paid for by My Rewards points, or any discounted items, will not be included in the total used to calculate the discount.

Returns for credit or exchange

We do not pay shipping on returns for credit or exchange. If a return for credit causes the original order total to drop below $45.00, the original shipping discount will be removed from the order before the credit is issued. This will reduce the amount credited for the return.

Damaged or Defective Shipments

When the wrong item was shipped, or the item was damaged or defective on arrival, we will either provide a prepaid return shipping label, or request photographic proof that the merchandise has been made unusable, at our choice, before issuing credit or shipping a replacement. If a credit causes the original order total to drop below $45.00, the original shipping discount will be removed from the order before the credit is issued. This will reduce the amount credited for the return.

Incorrect or Old Addresses

If we receive an old or incorrect address, (always check your shipping address if you use PayPal!), we can usually correct it if we are notified by email within 24 hours of receiving the order. Once an order has shipped, the address can sometimes be corrected, but it is expensive. The carriers are currently charging $14.00 or more for this service. You will have to pay the current fee before we authorize the correction. If the shipment is returned to us, you will have the options of either paying the cost of shipping the package again, or having us treat the package as a return, with a partial refund. A restocking fee and the actual original shipping charges will be deducted from the original sale.

Available Shipping Methods:

US Postal Service:

First Class Package Mail -

Available for a limited number of light weight items (less than 1 pound), including tea cozies! Delivered in 2-7 days after shipment. Quoted rates include our fees for packing/handling. First Class Packages include tracking service from the post office, but are NOT insured by USPS against loss.

Priority Mail -

Delivered in 1-3 days after shipment. Dimensional weight charges now apply to packages over 1 cubic foot. Quoted rates include our fees for packing/handling. Available for APO and FPO packages. Payment of import duties may be required at delivery to APO and FPO addresses.



USPS Priority Mail Estimated Delivery Time After Shipment

For Alaska and Hawaii, estimated delivery time is 3 days after shipment.


UPS United Parcel Service:
UPS charges by package dimensions as well as weight, which can increase shipping cost significantly. This website estimates package dimensions.

UPS Ground -

Delivered 1-5 days after shipment. Surcharges are added for rural and/or residential delivery. Surcharges are applied for rural or extended rural delivery. Quoted rates include our fees for packing/handling. See the service map below for estimated delivery times after shipment:

UPS 3 day Select -

Available in USA only. Delivery by third business day after shipping. Costs more than Ground service and for locations in the 1 or 2 day areas on the map below, Ground may be faster. Surcharges are applied for rural or extended rural delivery. Quoted rates include our fees for packing/handling.

UPS 2 Day Air -

Available in USA only. Delivery by the 2nd business day after shipping. Costs much more than ground shipping. Surcharges are applied for rural or extended rural delivery. Quoted rates include our fees for packing/handling.

UPS Ground Estimated Delivery Time After Shipment


Canada -

Pottery, china, or glass merchandise shipped to Canada will not be replaced if damaged. A credit for the damaged item(s) will be issued on photographic proof that the item is unusable. Shipping is not refundable.

US Postal Service / CanadaPost:

First Class International Package Service -
Available for orders under 4 pounds total. Delivered in 7 or more days after shipment. Quoted rates include packing/handling. Customs fees and duty may be due on delivery. First Class Packages include tracking service in both USPS and CanadaPost systems, but not during cross border transportation or while in customs clearance. Shipments are NOT insured against loss.

Priority Mail International -

Usually delivered in 7-10 days after shipment. Rates include fees for packing/handling. Customs duties and fees will be due when the order is delivered.

Fedex Ground International (Business Only)
For business customers who have provided us with their Fedex Ground account information, we offer shipment by Fedex Ground service to Canada. A US $10.00 fee will be added to the order. All other transportation and customs fees will be billed to your Fedex account.


Other International -
We regret that we can no longer offer shipment to any other countries due to the widespread adoption of new laws requiring individual foreign businesses, regardless of size, to register with and collect VAT type taxes for each governmental unit.
